COVID-19 Salon Update
Thank you so much to those of you who were able to join us to celebrate the opening of the salon last Friday….it’s been a bit delayed, we’ve had a pandemic don’t you know, but now that restrictions have been lifted we finally were able to get together, enjoy a drink and look forward to getting back to normal, the new normal, or the new new normal!
It’s been more than a year since we moved to South Wigston, but despite three lockdowns, social distancing, self-isolating, PPE requirements, stock shortages and Track & Trace obligations, we’re still here…… THAT’S A WIN IN OUR EYES! We really couldn’t have done it without you, your kind messages and support for the salon over the last sixteen months is appreciated more than you can imagine.
We’ve made a commitment to follow a more sustainable approach towards the way we operate as a salon, and are now a concept salon with Insight Professional who have a brand ethos that inspires us to value our environment and business choices without compromising our service level standards. Many of our suppliers are now independent, local businesses who join us in creating an economy that supports the community we trade within.
The team has grown too! Emily is now our Lead Associate Stylist, a well deserved step up. Caitlin joined us as a Beauty Associate last autumn, and although is now on maternity leave, pops in regularly to keep in touch. More recently Amy joined us as an Assistant Associate, this week she completed her Technical Certificate…. YAAAAAAAY…. and has progressed to becoming an Associate Graduate Stylist before she completes her Apprenticeship qualification later this year. Katie is the latest recruit to the HWS Team, as an Assistant Associate at the beginning of her career she has made a fabulous start to her qualification.
Our new Service Menu and pricing came into effect from 1st August 2021, with our updated website, www.heatherwhitesalon.co.uk almost completed, and online booking relaunching on the 7th August 2021. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram – heatherwhitesalon – to keep up to date with all things HWS…… Tik Tok Tuesdays are good for a giggle!
Thank you again!
As new government guidance came in to effect today, we have updated our salon guidelines.
The wearing of masks will be a personal choice for our clients and team. Masks will still be available for your use should you wish, and if you'd like your Associate to wear a mask, please, just say. However now that social distancing is relaxed, during busy times in the salon we may ask you to wear a mask to ensure everyone's safety. If social distancing is a concern for you we are happy to book your appointment during our quieter times.
For skin specialist and facial area services, wearing a mask has always been a part of our protocol, even prior to the pandemic, and will continue to be so.
We still have an obligation to provide contact details to Track and Trace if requested, and although not required we will retain the app check in QR Code available for your use. Until advised otherwise we will continue to send the COVID-19 Questionnaire via email, this must be completed and submitted back to us prior to your appointment.
Hand sanitiser will continue to be available for your use.
Walk-in appointments will now be available.
We are now able to offer you a hot or cold drink in ‘proper’ cups, and our regular magazine service will recommence this month.
What we will continue to do to ensure we stay COVID Safe
We have completed a full review of the salon risk assessment, and to comply with government guidelines and health and safety obligations we will continue to:
Ensure all stations, tools and products will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised between every service. We assure you that your gown, our aprons and all towels are clean.
Hand sanitiser will be available for client use. We ask that you sanitise your hands on entering and leaving the salon. Team members will wash their hands between each client and use additional sanitiser when required during your service.
Team members will be asked to confirm that they are symptom free, and have not been caring for someone sick in the past 14 days, at the start of each day. Twice weekly Lateral Flow Tests will be taken to minimise transmission risks within the salon.
Feel free to speak with us if you have any questions or feedback relating to our updated salon guidelines, and please contact us if you become symptomatic of the virus within two days of your appointment.
Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to seeing you soon.
Heather and the HWS Team.
